On February 22, 2009 Foundation for Modern Music presented the four superbly talented MacAdam-Somer siblings showcasing works by living composers, drawing on folk and jazz as well as traditional modern music elements, in the elegant setting of La Colombe d’Or. A special highlight was the world premiere of 2x2: A Suite in the Old Style for Two Violins and Two Cellos, written specifically for the MacAdam-Somer quartet by UH’s Robert Nelson. Wine and hors d’oeuvres were served prior to the concert, with a reception afterward to meet the composer and performers.
